Birchlane Repairs
Birchlane Repairs is made up. Sam, the owner, is made up. This is not a client, and it is not a result. Prices in the sample PDF are list prices as of Oct 2026, before tax, and they can change.
The sections follow the outline I write from: how the work runs, where the time goes, which tools fit, what to skip, a first month, and whether a later build is worth it.
How the business runs today
Two people. They visit, then send a quote by text. Invoices live in a spreadsheet. The website is one page with a phone number and no list of jobs.
Where the time goes
In this example, evenings go to writing quotes and sending a short "did you see this?" note. That is the setup for the sample, not a measured number of hours.
Which tools fit the goals and the budget
One chat assistant, used to turn site notes into a quote email. Sam still sets the price and reads it before it goes out. In this sample that assistant is Gemini. Google AI Plus is C$6.99 a month.
Claude Pro is C$28.51 a month, as of Oct 2026, before tax. The sample does not pick it here, because long documents are not this shop's bottleneck.
A free business listing for the hours, the services, and real job photos. Keep the spreadsheet until it is clearly in the way.
Visuals and video
Use photos of work the shop actually did. Skip generated pictures of jobs that never happened. A short video is not in this example.
Voice and phone
A clear voicemail and a habit of calling back the same day. A phone bot is on the skip list for now.
Marketing
One photo and two sentences, once a week, on the free listing. Skip a second social app in this example.
What to subscribe to, and what to skip
- Subscribe, if the free option is not enough: one chat assistant.
- Skip: a second paid chat app. It does the same job.
- Skip for now: a phone bot, and a year paid up front.
A second assistant, such as Claude Pro at C$28.51 a month as of Oct 2026, before tax, on top of the first would write the same quotes twice.
A plain first month
- Week 1. Fill in the free listing: services, hours, and ten real photos.
- Week 2. Save one quote prompt. The next three quotes use it. Sam still sets every price.
- Week 3. Reply to the reviews that are already there.
- Week 4. Decide whether the spreadsheet is enough. Add at most one paid tool.
Mock visuals, where they help
A one-page quote with blank prices. The sample shows the shape: job, price, what is included, and how to say yes. The numbers stay blank on purpose.
Whether a later build is worth it
In this example, a quote form on the site could come later. It is not part of the PDF. On a real business report, the fee can be credited on a later build. This sample does not include a build.
