St. Thomas, Ontario

The local tech guy for small businesses

I build your website and tools, keep them running, and set up systems that save you time. Part-time, by design.

For small businesses in St. Thomas and area. I'm nearby, so we can meet in person. The work is about what owners care about: being easy to find, spending less time on admin, and fewer things breaking.

Websites

A clear site on your domain: what you do, where you work, and an easy way to reach you. Every site is a fixed scope, written down before work starts.

From C$1,200 + HST

Most projects land between $1,200 and $2,400.

Every build comes with a care plan. You can opt out.

Every site includes

  • Up to 5 pages
  • A layout that works on phones
  • A contact form
  • Basic SEO: page titles, descriptions, and a sitemap
  • 2 rounds of revisions before launch
  • A 1-hour handover, so you know how it all works

Extras, quoted separately

  • Copywriting
  • A logo
  • Photos
  • An online store
  • Booking systems

Hosting and care plans

A care plan is included by default with every build. I host the site, keep it updated and backed up, and make the small changes, so you don't have to think about it. You can opt out if you'd rather look after it yourself.

Essential

Your site stays up, safe, and current.

C$79/month + HST

  • Hosting and SSL
  • Backups and updates
  • Uptime monitoring
  • 30 minutes of small edits a month
  • Replies within 1 business day

Month to month. Unused hours don't carry over to the next month. A change is a task under 30 minutes. Bigger ones are billed hourly, at C$95/hour plus HST, with an estimate first.

Payment: projects are 50% deposit and 50% at launch.

What you own: your Google accounts and your pages stay in your name. Your domain and email are always in your name, whoever hosts the site.

Prices in Canadian dollars.

All prices are in CAD, plus HST.

When I look after your site

On a monthly care plan, I handle the site for you, but it doesn't run on my own computers. It runs on proper hosting.

  • Its own space. Each site gets its own project on my paid Vercel account, or on Cloudflare for simpler sites, and its own code repository on GitHub. Your site isn't mixed in with anyone else's.
  • Your domain and email stay in your name. Always. I'm added to help, not to own them.
  • Nothing changes without a check. Every change is reviewed before it goes live, with a preview link you can look at first.
  • Two-step sign-in is on for every account I use to run your site.
  • Want to own the hosting too? You can open your own hosting account and invite me. I work in it until we hand it over.
  • If you leave, you get the site, the code repository, and everything we set up, and I remove my access.

Small automations

The small, repetitive jobs that eat your evenings. I connect the tools you already use, so the follow-up happens even when you're on a job site.

Starting at C$500 + HST per workflow

Missed-call text-back

A text that goes out when you cannot pick up, so the caller knows you got it.

Quote request with follow-up

A form on your site sends the request to one place, with a reminder if no one has replied.

One-tap review request

A text or email you can send when the work is done.

Invoice and payment reminders

Send an invoice, then a reminder if it is still open.

Custom tools that grow with you

Start with one tool that takes a job off your hands, on your phone or your computer. As you see what helps, we add to it. Each piece is quoted before work starts.

Change-order sign-off

A customer approves a change from their phone.

Job photo log

Before and after photos, kept with the job.

Job and schedule board

A simple board for the jobs and the week ahead.

Receipt capture

Snap a receipt so tax time is less of a paper hunt.

Customer list

Names, notes, and a reminder to follow up.

Google Business Profile

For a lot of local searches, your Google listing is the first thing people see. I set it up properly and keep it current. Monthly posts and review monitoring are part of the Growth plan.

Setup from C$195 + HST

No one can promise where you'll show up in search. I can make sure your listing is complete, accurate, and kept up to date.

Set up and fixed

I claim or clean up your profile: hours, services, service area, and the details people check before they call.

Kept current

Photos, posts, and answers to common questions, so the listing doesn't go stale.

Reviews

A simple way to ask happy customers for a review, and help replying to the ones you get.

Local search basics

Your site and your listing say the same thing, in the words nearby customers use.

Tech Ops Review

Not sure where to start? We sit down for 60 to 90 minutes and go through the tools you pay for, what's working, and what's in the way. You get a written fix list, in order, that you can act on with me or without me.

C$250 + HST

The fee is credited

If you book a project with me within 30 days of your review, the review fee is credited toward it.

Security basics

Simple steps that make a small business a lot harder to break into. I set them up, show you how they work, and write down what's where.

A password manager

Shared logins in one safe place, not on sticky notes or in texts.

Two-step sign-in

Turned on for email, banking, and the accounts that run your business.

Backups

Your site and key files backed up, and a check that they can be restored.

An offboarding checklist

When someone leaves, a short list of what to change so their access goes with them.

The monthly one-page report

Once a month, one page, in plain language. It shows what actually happened, busy month or quiet one, so you can see what your care plan is doing. It comes with the Growth plan.

What's on it

  • What changed on your site that month
  • Form inquiries and calls from the site, where they can be tracked
  • New Google reviews
  • Site visits
  • What I suggest next

First 5 clients

Founding client offer

My first five clients get a discount on setup. In return, I ask for a short written testimonial and permission to publish a case study about the work, if you're happy with it.

The offer ends when the five spots are filled. Mention it when you get in touch.

Who it's for

Small businesses in St. Thomas and area where the owner is too busy to deal with tech.

Trades and home services

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscaping, cleaning, and renovations. You're on a job site, not at a desk, so calls, quotes, and follow-ups need to keep moving without you.

Food and specialty retail

Bakeries, caterers, food trucks, specialty shops, and local producers. Online ordering, menus you can update from your phone, and order forms for the stores you supply.

For example, TK Snacks, a local snack business I built for.

Another kind of small business? Get in touch anyway.

How I work

Plainly, so you know what you're getting before you book.

Small jobs, scoped in writing

I'm newer to this work, so I keep each job small and write down exactly what's included before I start.

AI tools, used carefully

I use AI tools to research, draft, and build faster. That's part of how I keep prices where they are.

I check everything myself

I review and test everything myself before it reaches you, and I'm accountable for it.

Your data stays out of AI tools

I never put client passwords or customer data into AI tools.

I'll tell you when it isn't me

If something is outside what I do well, I'll say so and refer you to someone who can.

How it works

Plain steps, in writing, with no surprises on the invoice.

  1. Get in touch

Use the form below or email me. A few lines about your business and what's in the way is enough.

  2. A short chat

In person in St. Thomas, or by phone. We talk about what you need, and what you don't.

  3. A written quote

What's included, what isn't, the price plus HST, and a timeline. No work starts until you say yes.

  4. Build and review

Every change is reviewed before it goes live, and you get a preview link first.

  5. Launch and care

Your site goes live on your domain, and your care plan starts looking after it.

Questions

Who owns my domain and accounts?

You do. Your domain, email, Google Business Profile, and accounts like Square or Stripe are registered in your name. I'm added as a helper, not the owner.

What happens if I want to leave?

Care plans are month to month. If you leave, you get the site, its code repository, and everything we set up, and I remove my access.

Do I have to take a care plan?

A care plan is included with every build by default, because sites need updates, backups, and someone watching them. If you'd rather look after it yourself, you can opt out.

What do you refer out?

Hardware, printers, networks and Wi-Fi, and phone systems. Those need someone on site with the right tools, so I'll point you to a local IT shop.

When can I reach you?

This is part-time work. I reply within 1 business day, and calls happen on weekday evenings and Saturdays. There is no round-the-clock coverage, and I don't take urgent or same-day work.

What happens if my site goes down?

Monitoring alerts me, and I fix it or restore it from a backup in my next available working window. I don't promise a same-evening fix.

What counts as a change on a care plan?

A change is a task that takes under 30 minutes, like new hours, a photo swap, or a text edit. Bigger jobs are billed at C$95/hour plus HST, and I tell you the estimate first.

How does payment work?

Projects are 50% deposit to book the work and 50% at launch. Care plans are billed monthly.

What if I want something that isn't in the quote?

New requests get a short written quote before any work starts. Nothing is added to your bill without your OK.

Can you promise more calls or a top spot on Google?

No one honestly can. I'll tell you what I'll do, do it, and show you what actually happened in your monthly report.

Are these the final prices?

All prices are in Canadian dollars, plus HST. Your written quote has the real number for your project, before you agree to anything.

I bought a business report. Is it credited?

Yes. The C$79 is credited toward a website or tool build with KRBY SI if the build is booked within 60 days of the report. It is shown as a discount line on the invoice. The C$39 personal toolkit is not credited.

Tell me what you need.

This is an inquiry. There is no payment and no checkout. Kyle will reply by email.
