Grok Bot, Muse, Claude Duet, ChatGPT dots and Hermes compared (Canada, 2026)
Prices checked 3 Nov 2026 on each vendor's own pricing page. Prices exclude HST. Figures are as of Nov 2026.
Updated 3 Nov 2026.
An always-on AI agent is a tool that keeps working after you close the chat. It runs errands, watches your inbox, and messages you when something needs you. This page compares five of them for personal use and for owners who run the business themselves.
It is a general list, not your plan, and not legal advice. For business tools like Zapier, Make, Lindy, phone agents, and Copilot, read AI agents for small business. For chat-plan prices, read ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini.
Prices were checked on vendor pages on 3 Nov 2026. US-dollar estimates use the Bank of Canada rate of 1 USD = 1.3978 CAD on 2 Nov 2026. The Bank calls that rate indicative. Each “about C$” figure is before tax and before any foreign exchange fee your card adds. Prices exclude tax.
The short version
Pick one agent and stick with it. Running three at once means three sets of logins, three bills, and three things to check. One reviewer on YouTube called this “agent fatigue.” That matches what I see.
Grok Bot
Disclosure: KRBY SI uses Grok Bot for its own research, so weigh this section with that in mind.
What it is. Grok Bot gives you separate named Bots, one per role, on a cloud computer with a browser, files, and a terminal. They run scheduled tasks and keep going with your laptop closed. A Bot can have its own email address. It drafts replies and waits for you to approve them.
What people use it for. Work you can split by role, like one Bot for research and one for email. Also scheduled jobs that should run while you are away.
Cost. Grok Bot is part of The X Subscription. Premium is US$30 a month (about C$41.93), or US$300 a year (US$25 a month, about C$34.95). Super is US$100 a month (about C$139.78). Ultra is US$200 a month (about C$279.56). Team seats are the same three amounts. Plus at US$8 does not include Grok Bot, and Free does not either. Bot use draws from the seat’s shared weekly pool with Grok and Cursor. The pricing page shows ”$” only. Earlier checks showed US dollars. List prices exclude sales tax.
Cautions. All your Bots share one computer. Anything you sign into there is open to every Bot. A card saved in the Vault fills in at checkout without asking each time, and no setting changes that. Separately, a custom “Ask first” rule stops actions that match it. To approve every payment, do not save a card, or remove it under Settings, then Vault. Opting out of training follows your Cursor account privacy settings.
Meta Muse
What it is. Meta calls Muse “your personal AI agent that can take actions.” It runs in apps on iPhone, iPad, Android, and Mac, on muse.ai, and in a WhatsApp chat. You log in with a Meta account: Facebook, Instagram, or an email or phone number.
What people use it for. Everyday personal life. Errands, plans, reminders, and drafting. It is the best fit if you already live in Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp.
Cost. Muse is free with a usage limit. Power is $20 a month for 500 million Muse tokens a week. Maximum is $100 a month for 3 billion tokens a week. The page does not mark the currency as CAD. If those are US dollars, that is about C$27.96 and about C$139.78. Plans renew monthly. You must be 18 or older to subscribe.
Cautions. Meta says Muse is in limited testing and not available in all locations yet. Check that it opens for you before you plan around it. Muse asks before it sends an email or makes a purchase. Training on your chats is on by default. Turn it off under Settings, Data controls, then “Help improve our AI models.”
Claude Duet
What it is. Duet is Anthropic’s proactive agent. You get one ongoing thread, typed or by voice. It can give you a short morning brief across your connected apps. It messages you only when something needs you. Anthropic says it is built for professionals and small business owners.
What people use it for. One running conversation that starts with a morning brief and stays quiet until something needs you.
Cost. Duet is included in Pro, Max, and Ultra. It uses the same usage limits as the rest of Claude, and its background checks count. Pro is US$20 a month (about C$27.96), or US$17 a month billed US$200 a year (about C$23.76 a month). Max is US$100 (about C$139.78). Ultra is US$200 (about C$279.56). Claude’s pricing page says prices exclude tax and does not mark them CAD.
Cautions. Duet is a research preview by waitlist. It starts with US Pro, Max, and Ultra subscribers. It is not available in Canada yet, and there is no Canadian date. Before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs, or deletes, it shows you and waits for approval. Trading securities and moving money between accounts are off-limits, even with approval. Anthropic says personal errands like booking tickets are not as strong yet.
ChatGPT dots and ChatGPT Work
I write “ChatGPT dots” on purpose. Other apps called “Dots” have nothing to do with OpenAI.
What it is. OpenAI’s pricing page calls Dot “your always-on agent.” It is on Pro only. It is not on Free, Go, or Plus. ChatGPT Work is the separate tool for handing off a task. Free and Go get a limited version in the desktop app. Plus and Pro get the full version on desktop, web, and mobile.
What people use it for. People who already pay for ChatGPT Pro and want the agent in the same place as their chats.
Cost. The pricing page showed no dollar amounts on 3 Nov 2026. Check the vendor page for every ChatGPT price.
Cautions. You need the top personal plan to get ChatGPT dots at all. Read the price on the vendor page before you upgrade.
Hermes Agent
What it is. Hermes Agent is open-source software (MIT licence) from Nous Research. You run it on your own computer or on a server. You chat with it through apps like Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal, email, or SMS. It is not Nous’s Hermes models, and it is not the fashion brand.
What people use it for. Technical owners who want an agent they control, on their own hardware, sometimes for team operations.
Cost. The software is free. Nous Portal sells an optional subscription for models, tools, and one cloud-hosted agent. You can connect an eligible ChatGPT plan instead. Portal prices did not show on the page on 3 Nov 2026, so check the vendor page. Your real cost is model usage, hosting, and your time.
Cautions. You secure it. Nous’s docs say to set an allowlist of who can message it, and to keep approvals on manual. Never run “yolo” mode or turn approvals off. That skips every dangerous-command prompt. This one is for technical owners only.
What one reviewer thought
This is one creator’s opinion from a November 2026 YouTube tier list. It is not a vendor fact.
- Grok Bot ranked top for work, because of the role-based Bots.
- Claude Duet and Muse both rated well. Duet suits people who like one thread. Muse was called the fastest and most beginner-friendly, best for day-to-day personal life, with weaker models.
- ChatGPT dots rated low. The reviewer found it buggy and heavy on computer memory.
- Hermes rated low for most people. It worked for team operations, but updates broke things and it needed upkeep.
Which one fits you
New to this. Start with Muse if it opens in your area and you already use Meta apps. The free tier is enough to see if an agent helps at all. Keep it on errands and drafts.
Comfortable with apps, want one thread. Claude Duet is the fit once it reaches Canada. The waitlist starts with US subscribers, so do not buy a plan for Duet alone today.
You run a small operation and can split work by role. Grok Bot, from Premium up. Plan for the shared computer and the Vault before you sign in to anything.
You already pay for ChatGPT Pro. Try ChatGPT dots before you add a second subscription.
You run your own server and like fixing things. Hermes Agent. Budget time for updates and security.
Safety rules for any agent
- Start read-only. Let it read and draft before it sends or buys anything. Keep approvals on.
- Never give an agent a bank login or a one-time code. Canada’s big banks have said they block or limit AI agents in online banking, according to news reports in October and November 2026.
- Remove saved cards you do not want used without asking. Grok Bot’s Vault is the clear case.
- Watch for prompt injection. An email or a web page can carry hidden instructions. Keep an agent that reads outside content away from send and pay.
- Check every result for the first month.
- Pay monthly until a tool has lasted a month.
What the paid PDF adds
The paid PDF picks one agent for your tasks, accounts, and budget, with the setup steps and the prompts. Those stay in the PDF.
